Cookies and Cream Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake recipe below, cooked in 3 6” rounds or 2 8” rounds
  • 1 cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 stick butter room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup oreos finely crumbled
  • Extra oreos for decorating

Instructions

  • On medium high, whip cream cheese, butter, extracts, and salt for 1-2 minutes until fluffy. Turn the mixer down to low, and add in the powder sugar 1 cup at a time. After it is mixed in, turn up the mixer speed to medium high and whip for 2 minutes. Turn off the mixer, and add 1 cup of crushed oreo crumbs until just combined.
  • Use icing and cooled cake rounds to frost the cake.
